Life on a Spaceship
Living on a spaceship,
sometimes making a planetary trip.
The crew trying to keep each other alive,
the captain taking on jobs so they survive.
The doctor expertly tends to any injuries,
the mechanic fixes mechanical faults with such ease.
The first mate helps the captain when the job becomes a mess,
the pilot navigates with such finesse.
They don’t earn much but its enough,
even when times get really tough.
They find ways to stay entertained,
moments of happiness are maintained.
Some jobs they take are full of danger,
they are wary when meeting a stranger.
A quick escape means to go hard burn,
evading with every twist and turn.
Out there in the black,
time is hard to track.
The captain with his steely eyes,
does not lose sight of the prize.
Sometimes there will be a brawl,
friends will pick each other up when they fall.
The crew becomes like a family,
their togetherness is clear to see.
