We Can’t Solve the Three-Body Problem Because It Is Our Solution

The three-body problem
For example, the motion of the Moon around Earth
As disturbed by the Sun
Is insoluble
As in unpredictable
Whereas the two-body problem
Is easily solved
Providing consistently accurate predictions

Why, then
Do we never know
What is going to happen between two people
Making human relationships fundamentally unpredictable
Even though we only see two bodies?

Because, of course
There is always a third
But God doesn’t have a body
And we only know Him through His body of work
i.e. Through every relationship
Since we are all a work in progress
And forming and deepening relationships
Is how we go to work

Give this rigidly ordered neurotic another twenty-plus years
With my chaotic wife
And we just might discover a whole new world

God willing
It will be just like this world
Only unrecognizable

Call it
Predicting the unpredictable
