My dear brother

I wrote this for my brothers funeral who passed away far to soon at the age of 42 of a massive heart attack. I read it as best as I could through the tears

You showed me a lot of things in life,
Taught me a lot I didn’t know.
But, you forgot to teach me one last thing,
How am I suppose to let you go?

I know you didn’t mean to leave me,
Sometimes we aren’t given a choice
I will always be your little sister,
I already miss the sound of your voice.

What I wouldn’t give to tell you once more I love you,
Before God called you to the sky.
If only he would grant me one final wish,
I would hug you tight and say our goodbyes.

You will always mean the world to me
It would be impossible to love you any less.
I know now that the saying is true,
God only takes the very best.

The fact that you’re no longer here,
Will always cause me great pain.
But you are forever in my heart,
Until we meet again.
