God Where are You?

God are you in the sky,
Are you the air, under the birds’ wings
That help them fly?
Are you the legs that support the table
Or help the homelss or the disabled?
I heard the answer:
I am in the smile of the mother
Who just witnessness her baby walk,
I’m there when the bear mother
Watches over her cubs from the danger
Of the hawk,
I’m in the cool breeze of the afternoon
And in the couple when they spoon.
I’m in the room where all the person
Has left is doubt & hopelessness,
I’m in the heart of the widow
Who gives her last dime to the needy kido,
Where I am not?
Close your eyes & feel me in your solar plexus spot,
I am subject not object,
Ruler of time & space,
You seem me best in my creation,
When you marvel at the sky,
It’s vastness-the awe you feel,
The grandeur-mystery– that is I
