Autumn is Lovely

By: Rafika Pahud

Fall is coming and I’m sleepy.
I roast my own Italian coffee beans.
I pour the coffee for my sanity.
Autumn red leaves come tumbling down and my dark brown curls are in tangles.
The sheets are soaked with my bloody period so I changed it.
I don’t know why I feel weird? I just feel like I’m heading into an abyss that keeps pulling me into the great unknown.
I have no idea why I exist?
I breathe the same air as everyone else yet I feel strange and salty like a mermaid?
I’m like a large fat orange house cat laying on the sofa and purring softly to my mommy.
Please God save the Victorian Queen and let myself be free from tyranny!
