A Wonderful We

So long it has been,
I forget the sheen
Reflecting from your face.
What glamour, what grace
You carried along -
Like a beautiful song.
Like a fair fluff of cloud
Doth the moon’s scars shroud,
Like the chirp of a sparrow
And poignant as an arrow,
Your gaze cuts through.
Lo! Beautiful you.

Today unsung will be
My unrequited love for thee.
I am fairly sure,
You believe no more
In you and me,
In a wonderful we.
