Pause to Dream
My eyes open with the light of the day.
My dreams of far off adventures slowly fade away.
I gaze at the sunburst hues that fill the sky.
I stretch, take a deep breath and sigh.
I walk and listen to nature as I pass a stream.
I enjoy the morning smells as I reflect on my dreams.
For life moves at a rapid pace.
You must pause to gather memories that put a smile on your face.
I continue by the stream and notice a flower near the shore.
I lean over and hold the petals a feeling I truly adore.
I lift the flower in my hand.
I lightly sprinkle water as the petals bloom into a pink span.
The tilt the flower and drink, savor the taste.
I enjoy capturing the moment and not letting things go to waste.
There are so many things to admire with so little time.
We all must open our eyes and focus on what truly is sublime.
