But If I Should Give Up On Loving Now

A (sort of) sonnet

But if I should give up on loving now;
How will I ever know the tender touch
Of passions kiss pressed on my lover’s brow,
Enough to make her blush and in turn miss
Me in the same way I miss her.
How can you ask me now to just forget
The fragile moments shared in bubbling bliss?
Am I to just allow you to give up
When I could move a mountain for your kiss?
Yet I know, no matter how hard I try
I cannot make you love me, so goodbye.

I've only recently become inspired to begin writing, though I've been thinking about it for a long time. This is a first attempt to channel my feelings through poetry
