Inner Jail

My mind is my prison
Keeping thoughts locked away
Hate has remained my bond
It won’t let me go astray
Serenity would be a release
How I want that inner peace

Sanity has never been my way
Too much hate with no delay
They say life has it’s choice
To sit around and rejoice
But they don’t have my feelings
Or any of my dealings
Maybe one day I’ll be fine
Something of a different kind
No matter hard I try
My mind wants to steal and lie

So I’ll stay trapped in this hell
Like my own Inner Jail
